The infinite Jersey
AMI Incorporation of Recycled Materials - The infinite Jersey
Context
This project is the continuation of the 1st “Infinite Jersey” project (Refashion Innovation Challenge 2023) led by NOLT and in which Recyc'Elit was a subcontractor.

Objectives
Produce approximately 300 sports jerseys from rPET pellets derived from the depolymerization of post-consumer textiles (sports jerseys and shorts) by the Recyc'Elit recycling process.
Evaluate the feasibility of spinning post-consumer elastane separated using the Recyc'Elit process.
Unfolding
Collection of end of life sports jerseys and shorts, made of 100% PET or PET/elastane --> Sorting --> Preparation
Depolymerization by Recyc'Elit --> Obtaining DMT (polyester monomer)
Polymerization --> Obtaining rPET pellets
Spinning and texturing --> Obtaining rPET yarns
Knitting rPET yarns --> Obtaining an rPET fabric
Manufacturing --> Obtaining rPET jerseys
In parallel, during the depolymerization of polyester, the elastane will be separated. It will then be sent to a subcontractor to see if it can be spun.
Expected results
Jerseys incorporating rPET from Recyc'Elit process.
Yarn of elastane with a certain content of rEA separated by Recyc'Elit.
