Thanks to the collaboration between Recyc'Elit* Decathlon France , the first T-shirt 👕 made of recycled polyester resulting from the chemical recycling of complex and colored textiles waste was made.

📖 The story behind this shirt?

A few months ago, thanks to its revolutionary innovative process, Recyc'Elit depolymerized, in Auvergne Rhône-Alpes, complex textiles with various compositions, in particular, polyester/elastane (9%), polyester/polyamide (12%), polyester/cotton (45%), polyester/polyurethane (20% - 30%).

The monomers obtained using the process developed by Recyc'Elit were polymerized 🧪 in the Chemistry Valley, near Lyon, which made it possible to obtain rPET pellets.

These were then spun 🧵 and textured in Europe. In the process, the knitting/sewing stage took place.

This is how the first finished product made from recycled materials from complex textiles supplied by Recyc'Elit was born.
